Queen Elizabeth
The majority of the homes in the Queen Elizabeth neighborhood were built during or just after World War II, but it started with the building of 3 stately homes at the turn of the 20th Century by ambitious developers anticipating that Saskatoon would soon expand this far. They underestimated the demand and this land was not developed until 50 years later. Only 2 still remain and they are considered historic properties. There is some revitalization of the neighbourhood when older homes are purchased and demolished in favour of newer infill housing. For the most part the population of 2555 is older retired people. There are a couple of small strip malls for handy shopping.
