Exhibition
The Exhibition neighbourhood of approximately 2500 people was developed between the 2 major World Wars and it is located on the banks of the South Saskatchewan River. This community was physically bisected when Idylwyld Freeway was built in 1960 as several streets and what once was the city’s main CN Rail line were removed. Found here is Prairieland Park Trade Centre and the Exhibition Grounds which bring in attraction throughout the year from “The Ex” fair with rides, food, parades, entertainment, games and fireworks. There are small strip malls along Ruth Street and some nearby shopping facilities on Lorne Street and Taylor Avenue.
Below is statistical information on the Exhibition area. This information was gathered by the 2006 Federal Census.
